The Social Sciences Citation Index is a multidisciplinary database, with searchable author abstracts, covering the journal literature of the social sciences. It indexes more than 1,725 journals spanning 50 disciplines, as well as covering individually selected, relevant items from over 3,300 of the world's leading scientific and technical journals. Cited reference searching lets you use a given work as if it were a subject term to identify more recent articles on the same topic. As of January 1992, contains searchable, full-length, English-language author abstracts for approximately 60% of the articles in the database.
