English Short Title Catalogue describes publications printed in Great Britain or its colonies from 1473 through 1800, as well as material printed in English anywhere in the world during that period. This database is a research tool for scholars in English culture, language, and literature. From the beginnings of print to 1800, the file provides extensive descriptions and holdings information for letterpress materials printed in Great Britain or any of its dependencies in any language, as well as for materials printed in English anywhere else in the world. All recorded English monographs printed between 1475 and 1700 are now represented in the file. Unless you are a serious scholar or antiquarian, you probably won’t need to use this database.
