URL: Early American Imprints, Series I: Evans, 1639-1800

The name of this database is fairly self-explanatory. It contains full text copies of a fantastic array of early American material. Based on the renowned American Bibliography by Charles Evans and enhanced by Roger Bristol's Supplement to Evans' American Bibliography, the collection was first published by Readex in cooperation with the American Antiquarian Society (AAS).

The homepage of this database gives you a choice of ways to search (e.g. genre, subject, author, etc.) If you are doing historical research, you may well find some valuable source documents here. As of the end of September 2005, this database contained over 50,000 items and 2,300,000 pages of text.
